Seabourn Quest Accomplishes A Highly Successful First Season Of The New Ventures By Seabourn

The world’s finest ultra-luxury cruise line, Seabourn, has accomplished a highly successful first season of the new Ventures by Seabourn program in the Amazon on two astonishing Seabourn Quest voyages.

Throughout Seabourn Quest’s South America itineraries in February and March, guests delighted in exclusive opportunities to experience the natural phenomena found along one of the world’s most prevalent rivers as part of the cruise line’s inaugural Ventures on the Amazon program.

Knowledgeable and skillful expedition teams guided guests through a series of instructive and enlightening shore excursions. Guests involve themselves in Zodiac and kayak tours that exposed them to unconceivable wildlife native to the region including exotic birds, sloths, howler monkeys, pink river dolphins and even an anaconda.

With Seabourn’s continuing emphasis on enrichment, guests exploring the Amazon on Seabourn Quest also enjoyed a heavy-duty onboard academic program, with more than a dozen Seabourn Talks from the ship’s inspiring expedition team including Dr. Hans-Petef Reinthaler, whose lecture subjects encompassed the geological history of South America and the continent’s intricate and endangered rainforest in the Amazon Basin; Juan José “JJ” Apestegui, an ornithologist and naturalist who focused on the more than 1500 bird species found in the Amazon; and Kara Weller, an Alaska native with an education in research who offered lectures on a series of biological topics including a detailed look at whales, dolphins and porpoises found along the coast of Brazil, as well as the most obscure species of the region

“America’s Top Mixologist” Set To Enhance Complimentary Bar Offerings Onboard Seabourn

Seabourn has partnered with world-renowned mixologist Brian Van Flandern to convert the onboard spirits through its whole fleet with improved bar offerings, new cocktail menus and more. This new partnership arises as the most recent food and beverage expansion that is changing the way guests wine and dine on the world’s finest ultra-luxury cruise line.

Van Flandern has been the bar ingredients available onboard to a whole new level, handcrafting characteristic cocktails, enlightening and teaching the bar staff across the Seabourn fleet on both new and classic mixology practices. He will also produce a menu of cocktails limited to the line.

Guests will enjoy a number of fresh balanced, remarkably tasty food-friendly cocktails with flavors from around the world. Additionally, he will work with Seabourn’s bar team to standardize the classics to provide guests with the same perfectly balanced and served cocktail throughout their cruise.

Leading Mixologist Van Flandern will take advantage of the local markets garden-fresh produce, botanicals and flavour that Seabourn ships visit, will create a unique list of hand crafted cocktails   Taking in the flavours from around the world, he will work with Seabourn’s bar team systemise the favourites to provide guests with the identical flawlessly balanced and served cocktail throughout their cruise.

Seabourn Encore Touches Water For The First Time

Seabourn, the world’s premium ultra-luxury cruise line, celebrated another momentous occasion in the assembly of its new Seabourn Encore, with the ship floating out for the first time on Friday 4th April 2016.

Seabourn Encore was the main attraction during the traditional ceremony to commemorate this momentous occasion, the ship “floated out” from its dry dock to its outfitting dock at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Italy, where the final touches will be complete until the ship is delivered at the end of 2016.

The ship’s “madrina” cut the cord to activate the water flow to the ship’s building dock. Marnie Tihany, the director of business development for Tihany Design and wife of hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany, served as the madrina of Seabourn Encore. Adam Tihany is the visionary who will bring Seabourn’s bespoke aesthetic to life aboard Encore.

Seabourn Encore is being fashioned by hospitality design icon Adam D. Tihany, with fashionable interiors and modern design elements and innovations consistent with the line’s reputation for understated elegance.

Hospitality design icon Adam D. Tihany fabricated the interior with chic and contemporary design features and novelties consistent with the line’s status for understated sophistication. The ship will inflate and develop the line’s award-winning and highly admired Odyssey-class ships, which modernised ultra-luxury cruising with heightened accommodations and ground-breaking amenities when they were introduced between 2009 and 2011.  Seabourn Encore will uphold the line’s high ratio of space per guest, giving guests a exceedingly tailored service by close to one staff member for each guest on board.

The 40,350-GRT ship will be constructed with a bonus deck and new extended public areas, and is anticipated to carry just 600 guests, based on double occupancy. In addition, every suite features a private veranda.

Seabourn is sharing the very first recipes developed by American Chef Thomas Keller on board Seabourn’s ultra-luxury, award-winning fleet. Featuring an assortment of culinary delights, in various dining locations aboard Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn, and Seabourn Quest.

A new signature restaurant will be announced this May on Seabourn Quest, and will be launched across the entire fleet over the coming year, together with the line’s two new ships, Seabourn Encore launching in late 2016 and Seabourn Ovation launching in early spring 2018.
