Cunard, the cruise line known around the world for alluring ocean travel, will pay homage to one of the world’s most captivating Hollywood icons Marilyn Monroe when celebrity auction house Julien’s Auctions showcases highlights from David Gainsborough-Roberts’ renowned Marilyn Monroe Collection.
The world’s largest collection of film-worn Marilyn Monroe costumes, on board Cunard’s flagship ocean liner for passengers to view and purchase. on the line’s signature Transatlantic Crossing, August 9-16, 2016.
The Collection, comprised of film costumes, personal gowns and clothing, jewellery, property owned by Monroe, and original photographs and film posters, is the most sizable Marilyn Monroe archive of professional and personal items in existence.

The Marilyn Monroe Collection, which is touring the world before the auction in November, offers film worn costumes which cover an extensive portion of Marilyn’s acting career. From “Niagara” to “Some Like It Hot,” seven of Marilyn’s most notable films are represented with many created by award-winning designers and well known costumers of Hollywood.
Queen Mary 2 will have just come out of her 25-day dry dock Remastering, introducing new designs and guest experiences including the redesign of the Princess and Queens Grills staterooms and restaurants, new dining venues and lounges, and expansion of the only kennels at sea.
