Cruise Lines love when we show our loyalty, giving you incentives to continue to cruise with them as you climb the loyalty program ladder. From free internet and beverages to prior check-in and boarding, invitations to members-only cocktail receptions and more.
We see it constantly on social media, people claiming that one cruise company is better than another. I will say this only once, unless you on a cruise lines payroll. One of my favourite sayings is “Keep your options open, so that when the world surprises you, it won’t be that surprising”.
Yes its true, giving preference to one or two cruise lines over others. But, why limit yourself to just one cruise line. With that in mind, here are some whys and wherefores as to why you should keep your options open.
Call Into Different Ports
Not every cruise line stops in the same ports. If you only cruise on Royal Caribbean, you will miss great ports like Papua New Guinea. On the other hand, if you only cruise on P&O Cruises, you will never visit Hawaii.
Each Cruise Line Shows Diversity
Has one cruise line totally mastered the dream cruise? No, but each cruise line collectively outdo each other in diverse regions. By not putting all your eggs in one basket, you can experience different things and enjoy the musical performance on Carnival’s “Fun Ships”, keep your kids entertain on Disney, and enjoy your favourite cocktail served by robots in the Bionic Bar on Royal Caribbean.
No Two Cruise Lines Are The Same
Although cruise ships from different lines have a great deal of common with each other, they each offer different features that set them apart. From the SVEDKA Ice Bar aboard the Norwegian Epic, The SVEDKA Ice Bar aboard the Norwegian Epic, has the only planetarium at sea onboard Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, and One of the highly advertised experience on Royal Caribbean’s Quantum Class observation capsule that takes passengers more than 300 feet above sea level for stunning views of the area around you.
Cuisines That Are Poles Apart
While the majority of cruise lines offer traditional dining, “anytime or freestyle” has changed the way we dine at sea. However, some cruise lines offer cuisines to keep the most fussiest eater coming back for more.
Each cruise line also offers different specialty restaurants, if it’s a child friendly environment then try Animator’s Palate onboard Disney, if the finest aged beef, cut, weighed and char-grilled to your exact specifications, double-cut lamb chops, lobster tail and grilled fish fillet is what wets your appetite then Nouveau Restaurant onboard Carnival is a must.
Variety in life keeps the world from being insipid. There is nothing wrong if you prefer to only cruising on one cruise line. But don’t be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark. Professionals built the Titanic. Enjoy the variety that makes each cruise line unique, and keep on cruising.
