Royal Caribbean Testing New Unlimited Alcohol Package Rule

Posted: July 10, 2022

Royal Caribbean is trailing a new policy modification for its unlimited alcohol package.

The new policy will required all adults occupying a stateroom to purchase an unlimited alcohol package if one adult in the room purchases it.

Cruise Critic is reporting Harmony of the Seas will test out the new policy during a few sailings, where all passengers 21 years old and older will be required to purchase a beverage package, if at least one other person in their cabin has one.

This trial package will be for eight Harmony of the Seas sailings starting September 30, 2022 through November 18, 2017.

Clearly the program is being tested as a consequence of too many guests sharing drink package benefits with other guests who have not purchased the drink package.

When Royal Caribbean first announced their drink packages, they stipulated that all adults in the same stateroom must purchase a drink package if one did, but the policy was soon dropped thereafter.

  1. Fair go cruise ships make a packet as is, i think at around 800.00 dollars a pop, per drinks package they are making heaps anyway and that is in American dollars so they then get more out of each passenger anyway,i dont think people will cop this if they are going to do this, they need to make it in aussie dollars they cant have it both ways

  2. My wife does not drink alcohol. How come she would have to purchase a package just because I do? This is grossly UNFAIR.
